Model Citizens: Harlowe Blue on Pornhub

By Pornhub | July 19, 2022

If you’re just as charmed by Harlowe Blue as we are, then you’ll be pleased to hear that she is our featured model for this week’s Model Citizens post. We had the privilege to spend some quality time with her at the AVN Awards where she hung out with fans and showed her support for Pornhub and Modelhub. So when she agreed to do our model spotlight series, we just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to chat her up again and share her experiences and words of wisdom with you all.

If there’s one thing we know about Harlowe Blue it’s that her persistence and dedication to her work and fans helped her become one of our top-trending models. So read on to find out how she uses social media to grow her following and how she manages to keep her head up when things get tough.

How did you get started in the industry?

About four years ago, I had a friend who became a camgirl and I honestly didn’t even know that was thing before she showed me the magical world of masturbating on the Internet.

We became roommates not long after that with the dream of becoming Internet superstars. One thing led to another and she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. When she moved in with her boyfriend, I was let go from my long-time job at the car dealership. I was sort of stuck between a rock and a hard place. I wasn’t making very much on cam, so I found a day job to keep me going while I pined away on cam at night with the hope of making my time in the adult industry count.

Six months later, I was able to quit my job. As my popularity grew, so did my confidence. In April 2016, I took a leap of faith and started working in the adult industry full time. Two years later, I decided to get into content creation, which is when my journey with Pornhub began.

Since then, I’ve become a full-time content creator, a part-time camgirl, an occasional mainstream porn performer, and a Jack of trades, so to speak.

What do you accredit your success to?

Relentless and unwavering perseverance; I have been at this for four years in November and it hasn’t always been an easy ride. There have been good and bad times just like anything else in life, but I never gave up and never will! I have an amazing support system behind me to celebrate the successes and help me refocus when there are failures. Ask, believe, and receive!

How do you use social media as a tool to grow your fan base?

Snapchat and Twitter are my bread and butter! Twitter is more about networking, showing my fans my new video previews, and directing traffic to where I want it to go.

My free and premium Snapchats are the two places I really push my sexier stuff. I haven’t invested in the world of OnlyFans in a serious way just yet, but I’m looking forward to it in the future.

What kind of cameras do you like to use?

I use a few different cameras for different situations. However, I do spend a lot of money on equipment and time researching how to use it effectively. Certain cameras are good for certain situations, but it all depends on your personal style and what you’re trying to capture.

For example, for one site I’ll use a Canon Powershot G7 X because I like the way my page looks like a YouTube channel. For my Modelhub page, I go all out and use a Canon XF405 that has full 4K capabilities.

What were your thoughts about the adult industry before you got started and how have they changed since then?

Like many others outside of the porn industry, I had this notion that porn performers had the easiest job making a ton of money and living a lavish lifestyle. I quickly realized that all my preconceived notions of the adult industry were wrong and learned that hard work and determination are absolutely required to succeed. Much like any other job, you have to love what you do to truly enjoy and profit from it. Otherwise, what’s the point?

What are your thoughts on ethics, inclusiveness, and politics in the industry?

I try to stay away from politics in regards to porn. We are in an industry that is already marginalized, and I just don’t believe putting people in the industry into boxes because I think it divides us even more than we should be. However, I truly believe things are changing for the better and we’re moving in a good direction. It’s important that we stand together. Porn is a microcosm of society; we may have disagreements and different beliefs , but at the end of the day, we’re all people. Love each other and be open-minded enough to hear another person’s point of view.

What piece of advice would you give to yourself if you could travel back in time to when you first started?

I wouldn’t worry so much about putting up videos for free on Pornhub. It has the best traffic of any site. When my clips would die off on clip sites, I would hold on to them so tight, thinking, “How could I make these free when I worked so hard on them?” I never considered the fact that we make a percentage of the ad revenue on the free videos or didn’t really think it was worth it. It is worth it, trust me!

Also, all of the negative hype about Pornhub is crazy to me. From when I first started, I wish I would have known that the support team is amazing. They take down all of my pirated videos, even on other sites. Being exclusive with Pornhub is awesome and the 5% bump is no joke.

As for Modelhub, putting a bit of effort into it has given me an amazing return. It is now one of my highest-selling clip stores. Upload regularly, save and backup your files, stay connected with the Pornhub community, and you will succeed!
